The High Steppers Drill Team, Inc.
The HighSteppers Drill Team, Inc. is a San Diego based nonprofit organization with a mission to support youth, ages 3–17, by exposing them to an educationally enriched and supportive environment, which will enable them to develop positive self-esteem and healthy behaviors to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
Our journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, we've focused on staying true to our values and leaving a meaningful, lasting impression with our youth.
The High Steppers Initiative was created to address the lack of safe, structured, and culturally affirming spaces for inner-city youth in San Diego. Over the past 25+ years, we have served 2,500+ youth, providing discipline, leadership, and creative expression through our Dance, Step, & Drill Performance Programs and more.
Our programs are intentionally designed to blend performance arts, academic support, wellness education, and mentorship to help youth build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Growing participation, budget cuts, and rising operational costs have created a critical point. We are seeking partners to help fund operational sustainability, youth transportation infrastructure (team van), and program expansion and accessibility.
